Noson Tokei Seisakujo, the forerunner of RHYTHM WATCH CO., LTD. established.

1950

Established. Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo Factory: Showa-machi, Kitakatsushika-gun, Saitama.

1951

Released Japan's first domestically-produced plastic-frame clock.

1953

Concluded technical, sales, and capital tie-ups with Citizen Watch Co., Ltd. and Citizen Trading Co., Ltd.

1955

The headquarters was relocated to Ueno, Taito-ku, Tokyo.

1963

Listed in the Second Section of Tokyo Stock Exchange.

1965

Mashiko Factory built.

1966

The Zero Defect (ZD) campaign introduced.

Entered into an agreement with Citizen Watch Co., Ltd.for the mutual use of brand names.

Aizu Factory (Integrated into TOHOKU RHYTHM CO., LTD. later) built.

Transferred to the First Section of Tokyo Stock Exchange.
Became world's number-one manufacturer in clock production volume.
Released quartz clock.

1973

Developed the world's first 4-MHz class crystal clock movement.

The consumer service section established.

RHYTHM KOKI CO., LTD. (Changed company name to TOHOKU RHYTHM CO., LTD. later) established.

1978

RHYTHM SERVICE CO., LTD. established.

1982

Won TQC Deming Application Award.

1988

Started sales of CCD cameras.

1989

RHYTHM U.S.A., INC. established in the U.S.

1990

RHYWACO (H. K.) CO., LTD. established in Hong Kong.

1992

RHYTHM INDUSTRIAL (H. K.) LTD. established in Hong Kong.

1997

Headquarters was relocated to Sumida-ku, Tokyo.

1999

Released radio controlled clock series.

2000

Donated clocks to a children's facility in Saitama Prefecture in commemoration of RHYTHM WATCH's 50th anniversary of its founding (similar activities conducted annually since then under the name "Time Commemoration Day").

2003

Headquarters was relocated to Omiya-ku in Saitama-shi.

2005

Integrated factories in China and established a new subsidiary. Operations have commenced.
RHYTHM PRECISION VIETNAM CO., LTD. (currently a consolidated subsidiary)established in Vietnam.
Released first-ever clock to bear the "Eco Mark".

2010

Received first-ever green procurement compliance certification for a clock product.
